20th Feb 2020. Young Leaders Group (YLG) Dinner
This dinner was held at the home of Shuji Tomikawa, the former Council Chairman for ULI Japan and current Program Committee Chair (President of Mitsui Fudosan Investment Advisors, Inc.). A casual discussion around careers and current trends in the real estate industry were discussed.

YLG held a study tour of newly opened WeWork Shimbashi. Following the site tour and the presentation, active discussions were held in a casual atmosphere.

Participants of our two annual conferences actively network over coffee breaks and receptions.

Our first charity golf tournament held in May 2019 successfully raised donations to Mirai no Mori, an NPO that supports the growth of underprivileged youths in Japan through life-changing outdoor programs.

WLI hosted an exclusive Lunch and Learn where Harumi Kadono of IDERA Capital Management gave a lecture on fund management 101.

Opening keynote speech at Spring Conference 2019 by Goodwin Gaw, Managing Principal and Chairman of Gaw Capital Partners who also serves on ULI Global Board.

Spring Conference 2019 invited Takafumi Horie, one of the most famous entrepreneur in Japan aka Horiemon to share the latest information and insight on the innovations happening in Japan.

A group of ULI volunteer members took a trip to Tsukuba University to hold a UrbanPlan pilot workshop with the undergrad students.

Women’s Leadership Initiatives(WLI) regularly holds networking and speaker events for women in the real estate and land-use industry to find support to help advance their career and in achieving goals.

The Smart City Tour held in partnership with ULI China Mainland took the participants from both public and private sectors across Asia to various smart projects in Japan including Fujisawa SST, Kashiwanoha Smart City, and so on.

Developers and architects act as guides and open inspection tours on their new projects.

In seminars, we offer learning opportunities on technical issues regarding real estate development and investment by cooperating with law firms and consultants.

Jan 31st, 2020. ULI Japan YLG futsal new year networking event.
After sweating it out at a futsal match, we held a social gathering for people to network with each other.

June 1st, 2017. ULI Japan received the 48th Achievement Award from the Japan Real Estate Society for “Contributions to the globalization and modernization of Japan’s real estate market for the last 20 years”

At conferences and individual events, we create networking time for individuals to meet and chat with the speakers.

April 24th, 2018. We held a seminar on ESG investment. We invited speakers from Green Place Assets who provide ESG asset management technology with companies going global in ESG investment such as Bentall Kennedy and AXA Investment Managers Japan Ltd present. We learned from a recent global case study
