ULI Japan’s 2nd YLG Mentorship Program is about to get underway. The application process begins soon with the program being launched on May 19 at the ULI Japan Spring Conference 2022 venue.
The ULI Japan Young Leaders Group’s steering committee is preparing for the launch of its second YLG mentorship program for the first time in two years, since the closing of the first program in 2020.
The program is designed to foster an exchange of professional ideas and mentorship between experienced executives in the industry (“Mentors”) and young real estate professionals (“Mentees”) with the goal of providing Mentors with the opportunity to strengthen ties with one or two young leaders of the local real estate community and gain a fresh perspective and additional experience as an advisor, supporter and coach. Furthermore, it will provide Mentees with the chance to learn from experienced industry players.
The first YLG mentorship program was run over a period of 12 months with five key industry leaders as Mentors – Eiji Enomoto, representative director and executive vice president of Nomura Real Estate Urban Net, Harumi Kadono, managing director and head of the fund management department of IDERA Capital Management, Tami Ooka, managing director of Fortress Investment Group (Japan), Jon Tanaka, then managing director of Angelo Gordon International (current senior managing director and country head of Hines), and Akira Yamanouchi, President of Daiwa Real Estate Asset Management – and nine Mentees under 35 years of age from a wide range of professional fields.
The 2022 YLG Mentorship Program will be set as a six-month program and will kick off on May 19 in a briefing session at the ULI Japan Spring Conference 2022 venue. Applications will open shortly. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
